If you have played as the new version of heretic, what was your experience?
I was a big fan of the massively improved UI, level system, unique armor effects, and the solution to sidepathing with the shop. Also the new artwork is amazing.
it was very concise easy to understand and i felt like i could finally rely on heretics tools instead of using stolen gear and playing like a security officer with a few spells
stupidly overpowered
Bullshit
Moon is too overtuned & the new blade breaking is too much of a huge nerf for heretics which aren't as strong as the others (blade).
very fun and cool looking
It was fun, but they still get too many buttons.
I have only gotten to play it once so far. As it is rare.
I think the experience is much better for newer players. There are less buttons and you have easier access to side stuff.
In the one game I had I was the cosmic heretic.
I think maybe there should be a tip like "craft your robes you need them"
The loss of breaking blade dosent bother me if it means the antag is more fun to deal with for others.
:imagine thumbs up here: 10/10 would roll again
jokes aside, liked heretic passives, also very big change was side knowledge shop, lets you get something specific without researching half of the tree, super cool.
It's peak.
Went with blade and wasn't able to ascend because of UI jank
Some paths feel extremely overtuned in their capabilities pre-ascension to the point where they feel WORSE than when they were reworked. Moon especially has caused a lot of problems due to nobody knowing how lunatics work
They were more obvious with the new robes but not by a significant amount. Didn't feel very different to play against as a crew.
They're still overpowered and not fun to deal with.
I was typing out some announcement and got blinked in and killed really quickly. I appreciate all the coding, design and art that it has taken to remake heretics but per my experience they're just as over-tuned as they've ever been. I don't see why heretics get to be a progression antag and traitors and lings aren't.
It was a large adjustment to get used to losing the ability to blade break later on, but I think it was a healthy change. Though the fact that as a heretic you are a round ending threat still means that sec is likely to just kill you on sight rather than try and contain you. I'd honestly rather just lose ascension than be treated as always a round ending threat.
very fun!
I enjoyed it and I want to play more. I didnt manage to ascend or get any kills but I was having sec chase me
I haven't seen a heretic in FIFTEEN YEARS
antag token ascension, not enough chaos to define balance, but was a good ascension
Played only as sword path, tiers mechanics its a pretty good
i had not much time to explore it. As the new threat system is fucked up
lots of fun new stuff, tho i feel like the intent of making each path more streamlined didnt really work because the heretics tend to get more varied spells now than before. but i love it
straight up cancer
I felt the UI and progression was better
More fun and engaging than the previous iteration, I played as void both times and ascended one of them.
Definetely easier and with faster progression, though I never did crosspath much and got most of my knowledge from stealth collecting rifts.
I have not played as the new heretic
