The first instance I saw of ss13 was Sseth's video reviewing the game, but I didn't try it because of his video, more because I got bored of the massive lack of content and very shallow systems of ss14.

A highschool friend asked me and a couple of our buddies if we wanted to try SS13 out and brought us to Bagil, I had no clue what SS13 was and when I first tried it out I didn't enjoy or understand the appeal much.
A good while later (maybe a couple months or possibly a year)I decided to come back and got HOOKED.
I was binge playing SS13 in phases throughout the years I've been present on the TG servers and here I am today.
Unfortunately we haven't been in touch and haven't been around here for quite some time.

Friend showed me ss13 around 2018ish and we played on vgstation, I figured there was a tg server and lo and behold there was and dats my story

I long ago watched Tex of the Black Pants Legion's various videos on the game after encoutnering stuff about the game through MandaloreGaming. I watched it for hours on end before I ever actually turned up to play a round.

I got banned from fulpstation so I came here as it was more fun. Also livrah.

I first discovered /tg/station back around 2013-2014 after watching PlumpHelmetPunk playing on Goonstation, just searching for "SS13 Wiki" mainly; found the /tg/ wiki instead of the Goon wiki by accident and was lured in by the idea of mini-mecha, stayed for the longer rounds and more sandbox elements. I joined /tg/station shortly after I joined Goon and played there for a while on an older account that I've since lost access to (MCipher).

About ss13 - from a random forum while searching for a game called Among Us (ඞ). About TGstation - from a russian ss13 community. I just wanted to improve my english and now here i am - spending 12 hours a day in a 2d game about spacemans. This game is beautiful. Don't play it. Sseth was right. SOMEBODY HELP ME

i found out about ss13 as a whole back in 2019, but i do not remember what from. it wasn't the sseth video, since i didn't see that until around 2022.

i believe i found /tg/ on the hub when i was just trying different servers.

Found out about ss13 from russ money a loooong time ago. Found out about tg station because I found it had the best wiki when i was getting started, so I relatively arbitrarily chose to play here.

I was told about it by my friends and I was attracted by videos made by Livrah, later than by other youtubers.

I first started playing SS14. I wanted to try out ss13 so I first played some Fulpstation before joining the orginal TG since SS14 and it are very similar

I started playing ss13 after watching sseth's video. After trying couple of servers i liked tg code after trying it on fulpstation because it had "new player friendly" thing on the hub. After getting banned there i came to tg.

I was making a cs zombie escape map along the lines of ze_atix_panic and it was space station themed and I searched on google for ideas and the first autocomplete was Space Station 13. I started off on paradise cuz highpop & hubbed but then the coolest paradise player, Imsxz, got banned for some dumb bullshit and I heard they moved to /tg/station which had no furshit in it so I moved to /tg/.

Started looking through popular servers once I got tired of Bay back in the days, liked the codebase, stuck around for the community.

Crikens first few videos on barotrauma. Barotrauma was in its legacy stage back and played loads of it. One day I somehow decided to read the official page of the legacy game and read that is was inspired by SS13.

I knew about tgstation since 2015, I think. I just never really played much on it until after 2017, but quit SS13 to focus on my career.

Started playing again in 2024, but my old servers had changed too much as to be unrecognisable. So I decided to give /tg/ a try again.

There was a really old video I saw in the past called "SS13 - Setting up the singularity containment field" in 2013. I tried to find the game and never could because I was young and dull. fast forward to SSeth making that video on ss13, and then the puzzle peices clicked together and was finally able to put together HOW to download the game. thats my story!

I was watching Goon videos from a streamer and when I looked up the wiki page for goon I found out about these servers. After Goon was down for a while I checked out TG and stayed because I love the firearm mechanics.

i first started playing on ss13 like few years ago around 2020 or something on goon station after watching a youtuber, then i have not touched ss13 up until 2024 when i wanted to revisit it after playing on ss14.

i saw a youtuber play goon station and i somehow ended up on tgstation

a friend told me about it, i started on goonstation and then moved here after i got bored of it

I found out about SS13 via the Facepunch forums, although I never joined at that time.

a whiiiile ago, a friend held me at gun point(/j) and forced me to download byond.

I watched the review from Mandalore Gaming when i was attempting to find some new small games to play some 5 years ago, got hooked and played around 200 hours of Goon. Then i noticed Colonial Marines and played around 150-200 hours of that. Then i periodicaly returned to Goon and played only AI/Command roles/Spetial roles for around 80 hours and realised the faults with the server. And now im here and i have no idea how the jobs i figured out in Goon and CM work becouse Goon is just built different and and you dont tipicaly do anything else then shoot in CM.

A friend invited me to ss13 in around 2013, and the game appealed to me so I started to look for the most popular servers at the time. I was a 4channer, so when I saw /vg/ and /tg/ it drew my attention right away so I checked these out, along with Bay. TG had Sybil and Basil back in those days, and I gravitated towards Basil since it was the MRP server back in those days and I played Basil a lot for a couple years, in 2014-2016 era, during which time they also added a third EU server called Artem. Since then I've been coming back to ss13 every couple of years, always to tg.

The primary cause was, as you might expect, Sseth's (in)famous video.

I tried out Paradise for a round and didn't quite get it the first time. I didn't make further attempts for a while, but rewatches of the aforementioned video drew me in again.

After that, the game became a full-on obsession for a good year, or longer.

I first heard about /tg/station itself on r/SS13.

Like 6 or something years ago I found the blackpantslegion on youtube.

I found out about SS13 from a friend. I believe that this friend found out about SS13 from the Sseth video. I orignially started on fulp, but when it started to go downhill - and I wasn't new to the game anymore, I came to TG. I started on Sybil, as I am on the West Coast of the United States. However, the more consistent pop of Manuel drew me here - where I am answering this poll right now.
